| This magnificent 16-acre vineyard is located on Moraga Drive, Bel Air, California, owned and managed by Tom and Ruth Jones. Tom is the former CEO of Northrup Grumman, and the Joneses have nurtured the establishment of Moraga Vineyards since the first grape wines were planted in 1978. There are ten small vineyards on the canyon and hillside property – each producing its own distinct character from the total of 13,000 vines. They produce both a Moraga Red and Moraga White, and Robert Parker commented in the “The Wine Advocate” (1995) that “Moraga could easily be mistaken for a top-flight Bordeaux.” Scott Rich serves as the winemaker; Carols Contreras is the vineyard manager.
